Day 10 Levanto Italy

Wide awake at 3am thanks to the quarterly hour chiming of the Striped Churches bells. As soon as the sun peaks it's head through the darkness of night I am out and about to discover more of the area. Go out for a good 1 1/2hr stroll near the beach and it's surrounding area. I then return to the RV for a little nap before Mark wakes up. We both get up and have our soon to be ritual of Espresso's and pastries and then shower for the day.

A few of my shot's while out strolling.

Wisteria was in full bloom all over the area and was breathtaking

I had been trying to get a boat tour of Cinque Terre set up out of Monterosso and had received a last minute e-mail saying that they were going out that afternoon at 2pm. After sending an e-mail back and not hearing back from them Mark & I decided to hop the train over to Monterosso. Once there we discovered that they had left early and we had missed them. But we got a tour set up for the next afternoon. We ended up grabbing lunch at a seaside restaurant and had the freshest seafood ever.

These tiny squid were so tender and delicious

After lunch we wandered up the road searching for a wine shop that offered a wine tastings flight. 1 from each of the five villages. We fell in love with the white from Monterosso and bought a couple of bottles along with a jar of olive paste.

Enoteca Internazionale where we did a wine flight tasting of the local white wines

Then it was back to Levanto for another fabulous sunset on the beach and then a great dinner at Antico Borgo.
