Day 4 Surprise Castles, Castles and more Castles

Today finds us on the road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. As we pulled out of the campground Tom Tom took us the wrong direction across the bridge to the other side of the Neckar river again another great time getting lost. We found the cheapest gas so far so we filled up and headed on down the road just a few miles to discover these three castle ruins in Neckarsteinach. With a roadside pull off underneath one of them we stopped and took a few photo's. This was a marvelous find for us as we had decided to take the quicker route of the autobahn to Rothenburg instead of the much longer scenic castle road we originaly were going to take. We still ended up seeing several more castles along the autobahn.

Guess Who

A couple of pictures of Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas store before Mark spied a no picture sign unfortunately we were too late and the museum was closed

A Pickelhaube at an antique store in Rotenburg this one was only about 3000.00 euro. No we didn't buy it but we did buy an antique wind up aluminium toy bird that still had it's key and worked. (thanks abalada on trip advisor for the inside scoop)

We spent the night in the camper parking lot right outside of the gate.

Ate dinner in a cool looking bar called Davinci's and discovered their pepperoni is a pepper not the meat we are use to.  That is a a fountain wall around the fireplace and a white leather wall behind Mark. The ceiling was also cool as it kept changing colors. Not the type of restaurant you expect in such an old town, something more out of Vegas .
